Both are learning management systems, but they do not do the same job. Moodle is open-source infrastructure — installing and running it is on you. Vedubox is a service that already works — setup and maintenance are on us.

Vedubox comes out ahead on nine of the ten criteria. Moodle wins on customisation — if you need to change things at source-code level, that is the right place to go.
Moodle's software licence really is free. But the cost of a system is not only its licence. The items below stay with your organisation on Moodle; with Vedubox they are part of the subscription.
A monthly cost that grows with your user numbers. Add live training and bandwidth joins the bill too.
It looks like a one-off, but in practice theme, plugin and integration settings stretch it across weeks.
A system you forget to patch is a serious risk, because it holds your employees' personal data.
If one of your plugins breaks during a version upgrade, finding the fix is your job.
The least visible item of all. The time of whoever keeps the system running never appears in the budget, but it is still spent.
We are not trying to make Moodle look expensive. In organisations that already have a technical team, these costs may well be covered. Where they are not, the word “free” becomes misleading.
SCORM packages, videos, PDFs and presentations upload directly. There is no need to rebuild your content.
Your staff list imports along with its department and job title structure, and connects to your existing directory through SSO and LDAP.
